The Pacific Grove Women's Golf Club, established in 1962, is a group of women golfers of all levels. We are affiliated with the United States Golf Association (USGA) through membership in the Northern California Golf Association (NCGA).
As published in the Spring 2016 edition of the NCGA magazine, Pacific Grove Golf Links was voted the 2nd Most Friendly Course for women golfers in Northern California. The course is known as "The poor man's Pebble Beach" with comparable scenery without the high cost.
The purpose of our Club is to offer competitive golf in a variety of fun formats, to foster among its membership careful observance of the rules and etiquette of the game of golf, and to promote fellowship and friendship among our members.
Our 18-hole group plays Wednesday mornings and our 9-hole group plays Monday mornings.
Our members also participate in Monterey area NCGA/PWGA open playdays, a fun way to play other local courses.
Membership
To join the PGWGC 18-hole group, a player’s Course Handicap Index must be 39.1 or lower.
A handicap index is not required to join the 9-hole group, though knowledge of the game and some play time are strongly recommended. Players without a handicap will be vetted and approved by the Captain(s) before membership is accepted. A player may join both groups.
See the Member Application for details.
Special events during the year include:
- 1 or more members only tournaments
- 1 Charitable fundraiser playday
- Super Guest Day and luncheon
- Tournaments with other clubs
- 3 general club member meetings
- Holiday luncheon and awards
